YOUNG ELIZABETHTON Charles E. Young. 49, 604 Bingham died at his home Sunday night following an extended illness. Mr. Young was a native of Dante, the son of the late George and Etta Hines Young.

GENE, H. ELIZABETHTON THOMPSON Gene H. Thompson, 66, of Greenville. died unexpectedly at his residence Sunday morning. A native of Virginia, he was a former resident of Elizabethton and former employe of Watauga Chevrolet Co.

He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Eugene Springfield, Miss Dickey, former city teacher, dies Mary Edna Dickey, 709 N. Roan died as the result of a pedestrian-truck accident in Vicksburg, Miss, Saturday afternoon. Miss Dickey was reportedly struck by a truck as she was walking beside a roadway. Her sister was slightly injured in the same accident.

Miss Dickey, her sister, her brother and her sister-in-law were enroute to Texas to visit relatives, but had stopped for the night in Vicksburg when the accident occurred. Miss Dickey was a lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late M. W. and Georgia Hodge Dickey. She was a retired teacher from the Johnson City School System.

She last taught at North Side Elementary School. She was a member of the Watauga Avenue United Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two brothers, W. J. Dickey, Dallas.

and M. W. Dickey Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Misses Pauline and Josephine Dickey, both of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. one adopted daughter. Rebecca Thompson, Tacoa, one brother.

LULA BELLE COX KINGSPORT Mrs. Lula Belle Slaughter Cox of Eastern Star Community died early Sunday morning after a lingering illness. She was a native of Sullivan County and a member of the Eastern Star Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Bryan Cox on Oct. 12.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Margie) Price of Eastern Star; two sons, and Chester, of Kingsport: four brothers, J. S. (Sam) Slaughter, Kingsport and Rev. G.
