lee is confused. how many times did a person who used gun for self defense vs one who used a gun to kill another? Which condition is more prevelant? in our modern times, there really is not need for a citizen to conceal carry a gun for self defense because we have the local police and other law enforement officers to protect us, which was not so back when the constitution was written. i believe that much more innocent people are killed by guns than those who have used it for self defense. a gun is a killing implement, there no other useful purpose for it. to reduce random killings you must take the tool that is used by the person to kill and the only way to do it is by banning guns completely.

Establishing the truth and the ability to challenge is a fundermental safe guard. It is disenguous to give the impression of balanced, just and fair leadership when context is ignored. Having listened to accounts from female fire fighters and others giving course of conduct evidence for a court matter, as well as assisting journalist in putting together evidence for a documentary, the level of local council corruption, willingness to commit perjury and pervert the course of justice, with CPS and police support is astounding. Leadership and integrity within the public sector leadership, politics and local politics and those willing to turn a blind eye, who fail to exercise integrity or rule of law decision making is astounding. These individuals embody and empower miscarriages of justice.

The Federal Government Could Be the Domestic Abusers We Need DisarmedThe federal government has ABSOLUTELY NO JURISDICTION making any laws that infringe upon an American citizen's right to keep and bear arms. Period. Folks who want to blanket bind Americans really do not support, uphold, or preserve the form of Republic that our Founders gave to us, but would rather step around, or dismantle any boundary erected in the law at their discretion, or whimsy.Look, I don't want violent people, or folks with a history of resorting to violence, running around armed, but, "Hello? McFly!?" we have state governments. Today we remember Earl Gideon. We’ve come a long way, but we have a long way to go to fulfill the Sixth Amendment’s Right to Counsel. Frankly, the current system sets up public defenders and court appointed counsel for failure. For example, in my area, energetic and smart state public defenders jump ship after a year or two to work as state prosecutors because those offices pay some small percentage more. I get it. People need to pay bills. But I’d say that’s a perfect example of a “rigged” system. Am I right?Plus, more broadly, the case numbers are insane and the lack of support and training nationally is shameful. All I want to see is a level playing field!Individual lawyers and defender offices do miraculous things for indigent clients every day, but that’s merely one part of what’s occurring within the much larger game. The funding debates and decisions about indigent defense in state legislatures and Congress are where the real impact is made. We need to advocate for policy changes and funding increases at the highest levels. This issue is not and has never been about making it easier for hardcore criminals to avoid consequences. It’s about maintaining the integrity of a respected and important Justice system as well as providing essential services to communities that are far stronger and healthier when there are skilled and experienced people on all sides of major criminal cases. Let’s take time today to appreciate the positive developments Gideon set in motion, but remember we are still only in the beginning stages of assembling a fair criminal justice system.
