Once in the game, click on the “load game” option in the main menu. From there, you want to go through every single save and auto save on your game and manually delete them yourself. Depending on how long and often you played this game, you could have a lot of campaigns and saves.

If so, its likely a bug and you can try disabling it so the saves are local. Bug might be removing them from the cloud, the EA version is unstable and essentially forgotten, there is no fix for it before launch. Not solving the problem, but keep in mind saves are all going to be incompatible on full release anyway.

Friends who rejoin will automatically regain control over their hero. As of writing, the only way to remove custom characters is to reload the campaign to the point before it becomes a multiplayer game. Those who started their journey as a party are out of luck, and their best bet is to start a new campaign.
